Matsuda festival stalls

Summer is drawing to an end. The days are still hot but the nights are a little cooler now. Thankfully

Summer is the season of festivals or matsuri in Japan. As a freelance photographer based in Japan I often get asked to shoot these colourful, traditional events. Even when I don’t have a job that takes me along to them I usually go for myself to get some Japanese matsuri stock images and enjoy the energy and the food and other attractions at the stalls.

The image above is the food stalls and crowds at the local summer matsuri in Matsuda in Kanagawa. A small traditional summer festival with fireworks local dances and fried noodles. Fun for the whole family. Matsuda also has a rather less usual festival in the Kintaro Duck Race that a shot a few years ago here.

Anyway, summer is ending and the fun of festivals will fade.

Just wanted to share some images with you from these hot days before we all start bemoaning the cold.
