The Final Frontier

Space dreams. The photo above of the moon over Yokohama’s skyscrapers is the closest I’ll ever get but as  this Homemade Spacecraft from Luke Geissbuhler on Vimeo shows even ordinary people who aren’t millionaires can get into space (sort of).

My son has been on at me for ages to send cameras up on a kite for some aerial shots of the neighbourhood. Sounds simple enough but it is harder than you think to set up the rig and shutter release and frankly I have no idea how to start. We`ve put a camera on a remote control car to chase dogs around the park but that is the sum of our success so far.

This (and video above) is amazing though.

Isn’t that just the coolest dad in the world?

Now where’s my screwdriver?
