World Press Freedom Day

 

Monday is World Press Freedom Day, celebrating the difference made to the direction and understanding of lives around the world provided by a free press asking questions and reporting information that people need to know.

Bet Gordon Brown is not too enamoured of the freedom of the press recently though.

Serves him right for his rescrictive policies on…well…most everything if you ask me.

But then again, this time, I think he does have a point…

By the way the picture above is from the Hosei University demo I wrote about before and shows the security services (private and anonymous here but there were also government spooks there) filming the students protesting, and as you can see with the man on the right, filming me too.
