Center Guy

Now I think this is quite a good pun on Genter Gai in Shibuya where this picture was taken late last night. And that is what this “fashion” is called. Basically a male version of the Yamanba fashion for women and…well…that`s all you probably need for now.

If you want to know more it`s all here. I just needed caption information, but you learn something new everyday.

  1. That is a brilliant photo. He was cool having is pic taken? Sometimes when I’ve spoke to them before they have just turned their backs on me and dismissed me. It’s a side of Tokyo that never ceases to fascinate me, I wonder if these kids leave home dressed normally and come to Shibuya and then dress up like that, or do they stay in Yamanba mode all day? In Shibuya people maybe walk past and have a giggle at them, one day I saw some up in Saitama and the whole street just seemed to come to a standstill as people were staring at them. So many subcultures here, such a fascinating place.
