The night is young, and old, in Kanazawa

Two images from night-time Kanazawa: an old, traditional teahouse door representing a full moon seen in the old geisha district of Higashi Chaya and the youthful energetic main shopping street of Katamachi (though not so busy that night it has to be said).

Back home to Tokyo tomorrow 😦

Wow, looks like you’re loving Kanazawa. It was almost a year ago we were there and it was one of Zoe’s favourite places because of the gardens and more “old stuff” compared to Tokyo!

  2. It was great Andy because I knew the town and could get to all the good places without worrying about the chaff. Not that there is a lot of chaff in Kanazawa. First place i went was the old Samurai house in the Samurai quarter that you went to. It was great and it was where I took the picture in the previous post. I love that pic, it`s one of the best pictures I`ve ever taken, I think, and I really should get on now and put it up for sale somewhere.
