The blog of Tokyo based photographer and photojournalist, Damon Coulter

Lessons

Life has many little lessons for us. Having had bit of a get together with some Japanese based photogs on Saturday night one thing I have learned is that I shouldn`t drink so much wine on an empty stomach. Another is that great photographers work hard at their art, constantly thinking outside the box and are really really friendly people.

Indeed one of the tips given on getting better access by photographer Jon Anderson is to be really good at making friends. I came across this advice as I was reading the blog of New York based photographer and writer Wayne E Yang.

Some of the advice is obvious and better because of that, you feel when you`re working that there must be more to it than that but it is all useful rules which are surprisingly difficult to find as you learn your craft.

Talk to you later
